Session Title:
Accountability in the Workplace: A New View
Dr. Iwana Ridgill
Recent surveys by Partners in Leadership indicate that the majority of employees within organizations report that when goals aren’t met, they spend time at work in unproductive behaviors like finger-pointing and blaming others, and they feel powerless to personally affect goal accomplishment. Regrettably, we often don’t focus on accountability unless something goes wrong. Greater accountability individually and corporately can reduce wasted effort and increase the likelihood of success in training, accomplishing goals, and increasing productivity.
Using The Oz Principle: Getting Results Through Individual and Organizational Accountability (Connors, Smith, & Hickman), we’ll look at the four basic steps to achieve accountability and how we , as trainers and human resource professionals, can influence our coworkers and our organizations to embrace a new way of looking at accountability for accomplishment of results.
